Summary/Abstract: The state‘s duty to protect and develop cultural wealth, which also includes cultural landmarks, is significantly helped by the activities of municipalities as a territo¬rial community of citizens actively participating in the cultural life of the municipality. The contribution deals with the role of municipalities in the field of protection of cultural landmarks with a focus on distinguishing the activities of municipal bodies in indepen¬dent and delegated competence.
