Summary/Abstract: Thanks to the processes of globalization and the achievements of the 21st century, major changes decided to step through educational practice as well. So new roles knocked on the door of the teaching profession. Teachers should teach learning skills that will train students to sail steadily on the river of life. Four key questions are being asked: are the new teaching methods really new or do they still have a foothold in the history of the development of pedagogical science; did contemporary teacher competencies also have an advocacy policy earlier or not; is the alternative schools curriculum brought together into a whole of the initial and key imperatives of the new school; do we have ideas of focusing on the learning process rather than reproducing in the schools of the past? This article presents a comparison of the teaching practice of the 18th century, by Johann Heinrich Pestalozzi, with the modern tendencies of education. The method of analysis will examine Pestalozzi's work "How Gertrude Teaches Her Children" which represents a treasure trove of didactic and methodical responses to the education of the time. A persistent and unsuspecting teacher, with each breath he searches for the truth in the classroom space that needs to be given to the subjects of the teaching process, students, security to stand firmly on the feet of knowledge and to be ready to build the world with a healthy place of living. We can find all the answers in nature, we are instructed by Pestalozzi, trying to awaken the criticism of the current system that needs only a little spirit to bring to life and become functional.
