Summary/Abstract: This article concerns covering the costs of the funerals of co-founders of the Gdańsk University of Technology by state authorities. The study presents Professor Maksymilian Tytus Huber (d. 1950) and the first Rector, Professor Stanisław Turski (d. 1986), and discusses procedures applied following their deaths. The author also comments on legal regulations of 1954, 1960 and 1990, which authorised the Presidium of the Government and later the Prime Minister to decide on covering the costs of funerals of people of merit by the state.
