Summary/Abstract: Technological development is a feature of the 21st century and characterizes all spheres of modern life. The Covid-19 pandemic contributed to a faster digitalization process in higher education and left a big mark on it. Considering that technology has taken precedence in business and that it is impossible to achieve a competitive position on the market if it does not have a technological infrastructure, companies today most often achieve a competitive position through human resources. The fact is that only the human potential of companies cannot be copied on the market, and that employee motivation plays a major role in the company's operations and profitability. Through this paper, the impact of motivation on academic staff and students before the Covid-19 Pandemic and online lessons is presented and the focus is on motivation during the Pandemic and online teaching. The research includes two groups. The first group of academic staff includes associate professors, full-time professors, docents, senior assistants and assistants, while the second group includes full-time, part-time and distance learning students. The questionnaire consisted of nine questions, eight of nine are multiplechoice questions, and one open-ended question where respondents could express their opinions. The presented results can be useful to higher education institutions in creating business strategies and organization and implementation of the teaching process.
