Summary/Abstract: On the occasion of marking the centenary of the publication of Ulysses (1922–2022), the paper examines aspects that build the poetic features of the Joycean paradigm of Serbian literature of the 20th and the 21st century. Through discussions regarding the dynamics of poetic changes during one century of Ulysses, questions are raised about what Serbian literature of the 20th and the first decades of the 21st century would (not) have been like if there was no grounded continuity of original literary reactions to Joyce’s works or if there were even more examples of it. The paper concludes how much the depth of autochthonous creative responses stimulated by Joyce’s literary achievements over the past hundred years in Serbian culture has contributed to the formation of a significant Joycean paradigm of Serbian literature, as a prominent participant in complex processes of changing the poetics and in the contextualization of theoretical approaches to Serbian prose in the comparative framework of interpretations of world literature.
