Summary/Abstract: Books and their writing has always been one of the privileged fields of Jorge Luis Borges’s reflection. The purpose of this article is to highlight how this work is elaborated around texts of varied nature: both the short stories, such as Pierre Ménard, Author of The Quixote, or The Book of Sand, and the essays of the conference text on the book, the tales of the Thousand and One Nights or the text on Swedenborg. We intend to show how Borges organizes the book and its writing as a “game”, that is, as a constant back and forth between the author of the text, the text itself and its reader. This game ultimately leads to a certain blurring of categories because, as the Borgesian malice unfolds, it becomes increasingly difficult to pinpoint who, in the end, is the maker of the text.
