MORE ON THE PALATALITY OF THE CONSONANT SYSTEM OF THE SPEECH OF THE VILLAGE OF RECHANE IN PRIZREN LOCALITY: NEW DATA

Summary/Abstract: This article is closely related to the topic Palatalization Changes Reflecting щ, жд // дж, ч, ж in the Phonetic System of the Speech of of the Village of Rechane, Prizren Locality: New Data, through which arguments in favor of the thesis propounding the Bulgarian origin of said local variety were adduced. This research continues the analysis of the soft consonants characteristic of the speech of the village of Rechane, Prizren locality based upon material which was personally collected by the author in the course of conducting admission exam preparation courses in Bulgarian language, Literature, History and Culture for the Bulgarian minority there during the period of 2015 to 2019. The text highlights the presence of certain specific diagnostic marks of the Bulgarian language that are fully functional in the inspected local speech. This once more confirms its ethnic origin and its location in the westernmost part of the Bulgarian linguistic territory, which turns it to important proof of the continuity of the Bulgarian linguistic continuum and the location of its western border
