Summary/Abstract: Chronicles (osm. tevârih) are one of the sources that help researchers shed light on events from the Ottoman period. The compilers of the chronicles tried to write down information about the Empire, regardless of whether it was about the events they personally witnessed, or they transmitted what they read or heard from their fellow predecessors, which makes them an indispensable source, especially for the period of the creation and development of the Empire. when the archive was not yet established. This paper will analyze the data that the early Ottoman chronicles bring about the area of Herzegovina. Chronologically, it will be shown how the Ottomans saw Herzegovina and its ruler in relation to the ruler of Bosnia. Bearing in mind the disagreements and conflicts in the last decades of the existence of the Bosnian kingdom, an effort will be made to determine whether this was also reflected in the records of the Ottoman chroniclers.
