Summary/Abstract: The subject of this study is the use of mixed materials based on the principle of versatility in the field of plastic arts, in other words, the use of mix media. This study, which is related to the combination of ice and ceramic-derived objects as an innovative mixed material usage example, is a new application method in the production of ice artifacts and a proposition that diversifies the experimental work possibilities. The subject of the study and the main elements of the application, “ice and ceramics”, are brought together for the first time in the Ata Ice Works Museum and Sculpture Workshop, which is the first and only ice works museum of our country. In this museum, where works are produced only from ice material, new, different and original searches with experimental methods and approaches are met thanks to the support of museum coordinators and environment equipment. From this point of view, on the axis of this study, the experimental approach processes to the problem of using ice material and ceramic-derived materials such as terracotta, glass, porcelain, and the results of heat monitoring during the transformation of water into ice are examined. Thus, this study includes the analytical implications of experiencing a creative process with its original and technical details, from the preparation stage to the incubation stage, from the enlightenment to the design and realization stage. At the same time, this study can be evaluated as a piece-by-piece analytical work, after the design and application stages of 7 ice blocks, first in the exhibition area of Ata Buz Works Museum, where the works were shaped, and then in the 7th International Art Ankara Contemporary Art Fair, with the name "Smithereens".
