Summary/Abstract: In this research, we will present an allegorical picture of disturbedand perverted social system, through the relations of fathers and sons in the Topalović family – the main characters in the play “The Marathon Family” by Dušan Kovačević. The specific relationships between six generations of this family are marked by grotesque longevity, which stems from arivism, selfishness and malice. None of them is a positive character, nor could it be said that any relationship in this drama is unequivocally positive. The tragedy of the drama is not based on physical suffering, but on the moral stagnation and complete negative transformation of the youngest member of the family Mirko, who did not find a way to deal with the toxic and perverted society that surrounds him. On the contrary, he transforms in one of them and becomes the head of the Topalovic family. Mirko becomes what he was afraid of – an equal member of his family and valuable part of disorded social system.
