Summary/Abstract: Based on theory of mediatization, the article examines publications about the Russian Orthodox Church in the secular Russian media and in the accounts of users from Russia in 2017—2022. The approach proposed by the authors is focused on media texts not as on the content, but rather as traces of the interaction of actors in the digital space. This approach allows the authors to answer two main research question in the article. The first question considers the network of actors that become visible and that are involved in the interactions on issues related to the Russian Orthodox Church. The second question considers the mechanisms of control over information in the secular media, both through influence on the agenda and through the broadcast of evaluation of topical events.
