Summary/Abstract: In terms of methodology, our PhD students in comparative law focus their research on legal institutions or elements thereof from three or four subsystems of law (among which the Roman law is unavoidable, on the vertical history, because the comparatism suppose the good knowledge of the Roman law, but, on a horizontal one, the French law is undeniably the most important, given its worldwide acculturated suche code, the Napoleonic Civil Code). Of course, in most theses, Romanian private law, with all its branches and institutions, is also a term of reference.
