Summary/Abstract: In this study we seek to reflect upon a possible future reality – the end of automobility as we experienced it in the 20th century. We based our thought exercises on the concept of ‘social acceleration’ as it was coined in sociology by Hartmut Rosa and that of ‘automobility’ in John Urry’s perspective. Our reflection brought us in front of a peculiar tendency – in the age of high-speed machines humans become immobile.
