Summary/Abstract: The objective of this study is to offer a literature review concerning the concept and theories of digital identity in the framework elaborated by the French school of Internet Studies and digital communication (Cardon 2009), and the quadrants of identities (Fanny Georges 2009) and the three types of digital identities - declarative identity, acting identity and calculated identity, results of the individual’s activity and the system’s calculations (Merzeau 2009) and the digital double, other extension of man which accompanies the subject in everyday life.
