UN IZVOD PRIVITOR LA STATUTUL FISCAL AL PREOȚIMII DIN MITROPOLIA MOLDOVEI LA ÎNCEPUTUL SECOLULUI AL XIX-LEA
A SOURCE CONCERNING THE TAX STATUS OF CLERGYMEN WITHIN THE MOLDAVIAN METROPOLIS IN THE EARLY 19th CENTURY

Summary/Abstract: Studying the set of circumstances and developments that have characterized some social categories, such as the priesthood, during the Russian occupations of Moldavia is a topic that requires extensive research, thorough archival analysis and the publication of documents to clarify at least some of the still many unknowns of these trial periods for the Romanian society. In this context, the editing of the document underlying our contribution is of particular importance from at least three perspectives: it brings information related to the fiscal obligations of the priesthood, in relation to the hierarchical superiors, it records the number of ordinations officiated each year (from 1805 to 1808) in the lands belonging to the diocesan see of Iasi and contains a record of some villages in Moldova, with their ordained priests at some point, information that can serve to complete the history of the villages and their churches.
