Summary/Abstract: This article examines whether and how youth NGOs in Brčko District approached the issue of the ethnic distance between young people who participated in their programs. One of the aims of youth NGO activities is to establish a safe place for young people to develop their capacities, but also to support reconciliation processes in youth through activities in which young people from all ethnic backgrounds work towards jointly agreed objectives. This study examined the values and attitudes towards peers of other ethnicities in 60 young people (30 that have participated in NGO activities and 30 that have not) in order to measure the influence of NGOs on the ethnic distance between young people who have participated in NGO activities and the ones that did not. Besides that, I will conduct two focus groups with ten young people in each (10 that have participated in NGO activities and 10 that have not) in order to obtain detailed answers about their attitudes and values.
