Summary/Abstract: In a group of icons from Ainos with narrative vita (biographic) cycles are noticed deep and dense crossing scratches on the faces of several figures that either symbolize evil or represent the pagan authorities that put the saints in torture or execute them. These examples reveal the impact of the narrative biographic cycles on the people and the interaction between the depicted persons and the pious believers, who feel the martyrs’ pain in their hearts and by effacing these malicious persons’ faces want to contribute to erasing the evil helping the saint in his struggle against it.
