Summary/Abstract: The article presents and analyses the developments that took place in Kraków in mid-1937, indicating a growth of anti-Jewish sentiment in the city at the time. It is actually almost symbolic that anti-Jewish incidents even occurred during a football match between one of the teams of Cracovia club, traditionally regarded as being much more open toward the minorities than Wisła Kraków, against the Maccabi Kraków eleven. The author points to reasons that may have led to the growing enmity of Kraków’s Christian inhabitants toward the Jews, including the pending trial of Adam Doboszyński’s group, the observance of the Catholic day in Kraków and the general shift in the ruling camp’s policy vis-a-vis the minorities, articulated, among other things, in the February 1937 ideological and political declaration of the National Unity Camp [Obóz Zjednoczenia Narodowego].
