Summary/Abstract: The article presents and analyzes the reaction of the Kraków local government bodies to anti-Jewish violence on the basis of accounts in the local Zionist and Christian Democrat papers. Concentrations of such violence occurred in the early post–WW I years (1918-19), in 1923 and in the 1930s (1936 and the university incidents). The author presents the reactions of the press in the context of the ideology of political parties publishing the newspapers analyzed by her and against the background of the general policy of the state.
