Summary/Abstract: This paper intends to solve a long lasting pedagogical problem that is still confronting Arabic learners and teachers by introducing a new approach to learning the Arabic script. The new model minimizes the 110 graphemes that exist in the five-column traditional Alphabet table to 32 shapes in a single-column table. Based on the historical evidence and studying the origination of the Arabic script, this paper discusses the connector concept and presents a new approach to dealing with the Arabic script that could be applied in learning, teaching and computing.
