Summary/Abstract: Purpose - The aim of this study is to determine the significence of organizational structure dimensions on the occurrence of workplace accidents in organizations. For this purpose, a literature review has been done and the findings of the study, results as well as recommendations are given Design/methodology/approach - In the study, in line with the organizational literature, the Fuzzy Analytical Hierarchy Process (FAHP) method was used to determine the order of impact of organizational structures on workplace accidents. The context of the study consists of 24 senior executives working in enterprises operating in the petrochemical, iron-steel and textile sectors. A questionnaire based on pairwise comparison of organizational structure dimensions was applied to the participants. Findings – As a result of the analysis, according to general views of the participants, professionalism took the first place among the structural dimensions of the organization that causes workplace accidents. It is followed by the hierarchy of authority, specialization, centralization and formalization, respectively. When the analysis expands into the positions of participants, it was determined that there were different opinions. Discussion – The study contributes to the literature and researchers on the effect of structural dimensions of organization on workplace accidents. In future research on this subject, it may be aimed to introduce more comprehensive approaches by including sub-criteria of different sectors and organizational structural sub-dimensions in the model.
