Summary/Abstract: The paper elaborates on diplomatic relations between the Kingdom of Serbia and Persia from 1889 to 1903. The chronological framework includes the period of rule of Shahs Naser al-Din Qajar and Mozaffar al-Din Qajar in Persia and King Aleksandar I Obrenović in Serbia. The manner of diplomatic communication between the two countries is shown, unfolding at the time mainly through their embassies in Constantinople. Particularly important was the visit of Persian Shah Mozaffar al-Din Qajar to the Kingdom of Serbia in 1900. A focus is also placed on the importance of opening of the Persian embassy in Bucharest in 1902 for relations between the two countries. The embassy was in charge of the Kingdoms of Serbia, Romania and Greece. The 1889–1903 period saw the continued practice of the exchange of highest state decorations, established in 1878.
