Summary/Abstract: The study starts from the tasks of public administration, and then takes turns with the challenges of the information society and the implemented public administration reforms in developed countries. It states that in the last thirty years or so, reforms have been implemented according to three theoretical models: from the point of view of the technical approach, the value and participation-based approach, and the regulatory approach. Accordingly, we have witnessed the realization of three reform trends in recent decades: New Public Management, Good Governance, New Weberism. Before 2010, the Hungarian public administration basically implemented the characteristics of New Public Management, and after 2010, New Weberism and is currently implementing them. Regarding the future, according to the author's point of view, three concepts should be at the center of public administration reforms: partnership, self-sufficiency and security.
