Summary/Abstract: Purpose – The phenomenon of organizational goals is one of the natural extensions of the concept of organization. The effective realization of organizational goals and the achievement of high competitiveness require a high level of organizational performance. Management's ability to motivate and direct their employees towards high performance is critical. In this context, this study examines whether the organizational communication between management and employees serves to ensure the organizational commitment of the employees. Design/methodology/approach – In this study, which is evaluated within the scope of quantitative research, factor analysis was applied to the "organizational communication quality" scale, which is included as an independent variable in the research model. Two main variables (Organizational Trust and Organizational Commitment) in the model were included in this study with their dimensions widely accepted in the literature. Then, the regression analysis was carried out within the framework of the predicted models with the factor scores obtained. In the context of the research model, data from 157 participants in 6 different branches of a coffee chain in Istanbul were analyzed and interpreted. Findings – The findings show that organizational communication is a clear determinant on the organizational commitment of the employees. At the same time, one of the results revealed in this study is the cause-effect relationship between organizational communication and organizational trust. Discussion – The findings show that the factor of organizational trust fed by organizational communication is also an important determinant on organizational commitment.
