Summary/Abstract: The article presents the writings of the rectors of the Jesuit college in Minsk. The studied literature is treated as a manifestation of the communication and pastoral strategy of the Roman Catholic Church in the Grand Duchy of Lithuania during the Saxon era. The process that led to the foundation of the residence and later the Jesuit college in Minsk is described. The types and specificity of pastoral activities of this order in the Grand Duchy of Lithuania are characterized. The literature of the rectors of the Minsk congregation is presented as an example of typical publications issued by intellectually active representatives of religious authorities. Attention is drawn to the achievements of four Minsk rectors, mainly Romuald Wojniłowicz, who was the author of an extensive collection called “Holiday sermons for the whole year.” Analysis of the collection’s contents is carried out, which seems to be strongly inscribed in the Old Polish preacher’s metatext and shows clear links with the literature of the late Baroque period, without any clear influence of the style and pragmatics of the Enlightenment. The works of Józef Stanisław Rudomina and Teodat Ramułt, authors of Jesuit theatrical plays and small rhetorical works, are also characterized. Finally, the figure of Franciszek Ksawery Ogiński is recalled, who penned a history of St. Michael’s Church in Vilnius. The analysis allows for exposition of the intellectual formation of the studied Roman Catholic clergy and pastoral practice related to their writing.
