HATÂÎ ÜSLÛBU MOTİFLERİN TASARIM SÜRECİNDE KULLANILAN BAZI TERİMLERİN ANLAM VE KULLANIM ALANLARINA GÖRE TASNİFLENMESİ
CLASSIFICATION OF SOME TERMS USED IN THE DESIGN PROCESS OF HATAI STYLE MOTIFS ACCORDING TO THEIR MEANINGS AND USAGE AREA

Summary/Abstract: Some of the basic terms used in the design process in Turkish Decorative Arts in order to provide linguistic unity in the definition of techniques and methods are explained by supporting with sample visuals. The terms selected and determined for the motif design process from the books, articles, theses and dictionaries published in the relevant field are classified under three sub-titles as “hatai style motifs”, “motif parts” and “design proces”. It is aimed that those who can operate in this field can benefit from more resources in terms of understanding the theoretical infrastructure of the design process by giving Turkish and English synonyms of terms that entered Turkish from foreign languages.
