Summary/Abstract: The man is a symbolizing creature and lives in a symbolic nature. Man carries out this seek for meaning in this intellectual field, achieves this effort only while producing, interpreting or comprehending symbolic expressions. With the consistently reinterpretation of cultural codes and traditions, a new universe of semiosis is occured; so that this universe is structured into a network of interpreters and constantly recording what is said about the truth. This structuring has led to formation of a symbolic meaning network embedded in the semiosphere, interpreted through esoteric knowledge traditions, by developing distinctive ways of thinking over time. Musical cosmology is one of the salient symbolic narratives in the speculative music theory tradition, which tries to make sense of the relationship between 'God-Universe-Man' and the position of man in this network of relations within the scope of cosmological and ontological debates. In this article, musical cosmology notion was interpreted based on Tanburi Kucuk Artin’s theoretical work named ‘Musiki Edvari’ and aimed to clarify the meanings hidden behind the text by discussing the position of allegories that Artin applied in the tradition of symbolic thought. In accordance with this purpose, in order to determine the intellectual basis of the symbolic expressions used by Tanburi Kucuk Artin, the ‘Comperative Historical Research’ method, which is a branch of the ‘Historical Research’, one of the qualitative research designs, was used. Afterwards, based on the narratives of Tanbûri Küçük Artin in his theoretical work named Mûsikî Edvârı, his musical cosmology thought was explained, and the symbolic narratives he used at this point were tried to be analyzed with a hermeneutic effort.
