Summary/Abstract: ions of the Labor Code and refer to issues related to the right to life, the right to work of citizens, the progress and development of the national economy as well as the development of social and cultural activities. Concretely, the state social insurances aim at priority aspects regarding: the insurance of pensions for the work done and the age limit; pension insurance for loss of working capacity caused by accidents or occupational diseases; pension insurance for loss of working capacity; ensuring the survivor’s pension; provision of allowances for temporary work incapacity; of the benefit for the prevention of illnesses and the recovery of work capacity; of maternity allowance and for child rearing or sick child care; of death benefits, etc. The specifics of state social insurance represent a form of mandatory nominal collection of a part of taxpayers’ income to the state insurance budget, which is achieved by applying specific tax rates on the income of each individual taxpayer. Insurance and social protection comes as a response to the risks related to unemployment, illness, accidents, deaths, etc., while the social assistance component comes as a response to the security of vulnerable people.
