Summary/Abstract: Since modern art, reality existed as a clash between fragmented images of the world, which in turn are products of different perspectives. Looking at the twentieth century painting, the issue of reality existed in parallel to the idea of world. More recently, another idea has gained widespread acceptance: that the reality expressed in painting is lost, and what matters is the image itself. This study will take up this process using the concept of capitalist realism. The study will discuss reality in modernist painting from modern intellectual perspectives. Utopias immanent in ideologies promote the idea of constructive and productive art, whereas in modern culture, art views reality as a semiotic play. This is characterized by capitalism, viewed as the endpoint of history, and capitalist realism as a worldview. This study explains capitalist realism by examining the relationship between the meanings of the concept of capitalist realism and the techniques of depiction in painting in modern culture, points out the positive and negative aspects of this reality, and makes recommendations.
