THEORETICAL AND METHODOLOGICAL ISSUES OF MYTHOPOETIC ANALYSIS

Summary/Abstract: The theoretical and methodological issues of mythopoetics, which are of actual importance in modern literary studies, are analyzed in the article. Research methods such as mythological, anthropological, comparative and other schools of literary studies, hermeneutics and deconstruction, which are the literaryaesthetic and theoretical sources of modern mythopoetics, were reviewed. The peculiarity of the manifestation of mythopoetics in the former Soviet and Western space, the influence of social and ideological factors, common and different aspects have been touched upon. In the study of myth and literature relations, the descriptive method involves the direct inclusion of existing mythological texts into literary works, the comparative method - based on the comparison of literary and mythological plots and images, they are brought to common destruction and reveal their genetic connection, and in hermeneutics - thanks to the interpretation of the similarities between myth and literature, the original modern plots and images it is indicated that the source is defined and interpreted. Mythopoetic studies in Azerbaijani literary studies are noted and future research directions are emphasized.
