SHARH METHODOLOGY IN THE CONTEXT OF MUHAMMED ALI AS-SABUNI'S "ASH-SHARH AL-MUYASSAR"

Summary/Abstract: Sabuni began his education at an early age, travelling extensively and studying under many scholars. He authored valuable works in various fields such as Tafsir, Kalam, Fiqh and Hadith. Despite his recognition predominantly as a contemporary scholar of Tafsir, Sabuni also published works in the area of Hadith using a clear and plain language, a quality which has earned him the approval of many. The purpose of this study is to present Muhammed Ali As-Sâbûnî’s sharh methodology in context of his concise treatise in the area of hadith known as, "Ash-Sharh Al-Muyassar." Having benefited from numerous works in the area of hadith while preparing this book, what stands out again is the use of a plain and simple language. As such, the book addresses a larger audience by giving access to those even with an intermediate level in Arabic.
