Summary/Abstract: The COVID pandemic has proven a challenge due to its sudden onset and to the forced transfer of the teaching-learning-assessment process to the online environment. Yet, concerns for online student retention and student persistence were also revealed in the process. Despite these drawbacks, the importance of online collaborative tasks was highlighted and questions on what factors contribute to an efficient online teaching-learning-assessment process were raised. The aim of the paper is to compare the online teaching of ESP with that of other subjects in terms of efficiency of the teaching-learning-assessment process correlated with the types of activities and online tools used. Furthermore, it presents the tools and the type of activities and tasks that the online collaborative teaching was based on and discusses their efficiency in the learning process. The conclusion is that all factors combined lead to a significantly positive difference in the online teaching of ESP compared to the other subjects.
