Summary/Abstract: This paper presents several advantages and aspects of digital teaching techniques applied to the specialized language classes for engineers, as well as a few different modern teaching and learning methods which are meant to help the students use their knowledge of foreign languages effectively in their careers. Since in the modern society people find it more and more difficult to communicate directly and since they would rather keep in touch by using the digital means of communication, engineers also need to possess computer skills. In the field of technological sciences these skills are of utmost importance because engineers, technicians and managers must always be prepared to convey precise written and oral indications and counsels to help the workers understand how to build and maintain different and highly complex devices and machines by constantly checking if they work properly and if they follow the elaborate safety and maintenance procedures. This is the reason why these specific communication and computer skills and modern teaching methods should be acquired and practiced during the foreign language for specific purposes courses and seminars and adapted to the actual future professional activities of the students.
