Summary/Abstract: This article presents the results of a social anthropology study conducted in a rural community in the area of Moldova (Romania). The aim is to highlight the role of individual memory in creating a collective memory that helps identify local specifics. The investigated population is mature and elderly. From a methodological point of view, we used qualitative methods. The results highlight the memory of the inhabitants regarding the history of the village and of the community, confessional and ethnic aspects of the community, respectively traditions and local specifics, and the conclusions can be premises for the further development of the community.
