Summary/Abstract: Archaeological research carried out between 1957-1959 in Moldoveni (former Porcești), Neamț County, Dealul Gabăra point, allowed the discovery of a necropolis dated in the 2nd-3rd centuries AD. In the archaeological campaign 98 graves were investigated, of which 63 were cremations and 35 were inhumations. More than 60 years after the excavations were completed, out of the total number of cremation urns, only six were preserved with human osteological remains. Through the proposed theme, we aimed to associate and correlate the archaeological data with those resulting from the anthropological analysis, in order to obtain new information about the deceased of that necropolis. Of all the urns, the analysis of the cremation remains from graves No. 1 and No. 36, combined with the diversity of funerary objects (mostly of common metals, but also some of precious metals), allowed the enunciation of new interpretations indicating the special status and importance of the deceased for their relatives.
