Summary/Abstract: Moses is undoubtedly one of the greatest biblical figures. His life and the role he played in the history of ancient Israel are exceptional. The paper is an attempt at a synthetic presentation of Moses' role in the history of salvation. In the first part the author analyzes the description of the birth of Moses and his mission, contained in the Pentateuch. The secondpart focuses on the analysis of the elements that make up the historical value of this figure, and the third part contains the analysis of the theological aspect of parallelism between Moses and Jesus.
