Summary/Abstract: The fifth anniversary of the death of the Reverend Alojzy Szorc, a historian of Warmia (2015), has provided an opportunity to take a closer look at his research of the work of Stanislaus Hosius in connection with the latter’s beatification process. This paper is divided into two main parts: the first one presents the Servant of God Cardinal Hosius and outlines his beatification process, the second one presents the studies of the Reverend Alojzy Szorcdevoted to the works of Stanislaus Hosius. The Reverend Professor Szorc spent much of his life studying the work of Hosius. As a member of the Historical Commission, he conducted preliminary research, both at home and abroad. He organised and ran the Hosius Workshop, which helped to publish Hosius’ correspondence from 1564 and 1565. All this proved necessary for the Warmia Archdiocese to complete the diocesan stage of the beatification procedure of Servant of God Cardinal Stanislaus Hosius.
