Summary/Abstract: The article illuminates cyberpunk’s invisible conservative ideologies, including ethnicprejudice, sexism and misogyny, and deep anti-ecologism, but, above all, the acceptanceof neoliberal capitalism hiding behind the façade of anti-corporate rhetoric. Cyberpunkis thus not only conciliatory in relation to the current socio-economic system. Itcommunicates its quintessential values and serves as an effective rhetorical tool whoseperversity relies on the virality of its visual signature and empty gestures of rebellion.
