Summary/Abstract: The study presents the results from a survey done as part of the doctoral dissertation “Computer mediated communication – personality profiles. Methodological approaches” at the Department of General, Experimental, and Developmental Psychology, Faculty of Philosophy, University of Sofia. The existing relationships between state and trait anxiety, on one hand, and virtual communication, on the other hand, are considered. The presence of a noticeable relaxing effect during computer mediated communication is observed. The specific conditions of this effect’s appearance are detailed in a four-component model of virtual communication going off – dynamic temporal relationships model – depending on its duration.
