Summary/Abstract: The article examines the development and activities of the Free Cossack movement in Bulgaria. Particular attention is paid to the leader of the Bulgarian Cossaks, Pavel Kudinov, who actively participated in the life of the Cossack émigrés and for a certain period of time was even in charge of one of the main centres of Cossacs National Movement (called also “samostiinichestvo”) – those located in Prague. The text was written on the basis of new documents from the Bulgarian state archive, as well as materials from the journals “Kazakia” and “Volniy Don” which were issued in the second half of the 1930s by Bulgarian Free-Cossacs.
