Summary/Abstract: The aim of this work was to try to capture the relationship between high and low arousal emotions and virality of political content on social media. The study analysed Facebook posts of the two candidates who received the most support and went to the second round during the presidential election in Ukraine in 2019 – Volodymyr Zelensky and Petro Poroshenko. The emotions evoked by the content were identified by respondents in the CAWI study. The logistic regression analysis indicates that there is not enough evidence to confirm the role of activating and deactivating emotions in the spread of political content on social media.
