Summary/Abstract: The article briefly examines Cicero's defense in the case of his friend Caecina concerning property which he possessed by inheritance but was denied possession by a person who claimed to possess it by virtue of purchase. The arguments that Cicero puts forward in connection with the application of the interdictum unde vi armata and which are included in the comments of the classical jurists summarized in D.43.26 are examined. Cicero's defense also reveals the special approach of the Roman jurists in interpreting the words contained in the laws, in the praetorian acts or pronounced by the parties in the process.
