Summary/Abstract: The article deals with the problem of security in the post-Soviet space with special attention to the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict. The problem of security in this region is multi-dimensional and is influenced by numerous factors. The political structure of most post-Soviet countries is characterized by instability and lack of transparency, and there is an asymmetry in the social, political, military, and economic components of power among the former Soviet republics. One of the hardest conflicts to resolve in the post-Soviet space is the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict. Due to deep historical roots, the prospects for its resolution have not been determined so far. Nevertheless, thanks to the efforts of the Russian Federation, the latest escalation of the conflict in November 2021 has led to the signing of important agreements between Armenia and Azerbaijan, which are supposed to contribute to the stabilization of the situation in the region of the Caucasus.
