Summary/Abstract: This thesis is about how to define the concept of patriotism; it presents various views and perspectives that extend its field. Many points of view that are in this thesis contribute to deeper understanding of this concept and to greater awareness of its usage. Beyond the definition of patriotism, the thesis also focuses on defining what being a patriot means, it presents patriotic attitudes and behaviour, and also events whose main purpose is to cultivate tradition and strengthening such attitudes in society. Except that there are definitions of patriotism, the thesis includes data on how respondents understand patriotism as well. There are also some threats to patriotism and those, which patriotism may cause.
