Summary/Abstract: The author diagnosed the range and scale of human capital competences needed in Polish knowledge-based economy. Further, as part of epistemological research, the author identified the range of meanings of basic notions, such as: qualifications, competences, skills, human capital, strategy, scenario and foresight. Finally, the author systematized, the relationship between the above-mentioned notions.
