Summary/Abstract: The article reviews the usage of jargon in advertisments. Though jargon is a very expressive and emotional stylisic device, it does not belong to the standard languae. The author is of the opinion that jargon in the language of advertisments should be used with care, considering its origin and stylistic motivation. Some samples of motivated and unmotivated jargon are discussed.
