Summary/Abstract: The author focuses on the Trio for clarinet, French horn and piano written by composer from the Republic of Moldova Oleg Negruta in 1993. The composer has chosen a non-traditional timbre mix engaging clarinet and French horn, the last one being rarely used within piano trio. The purpose pursued by the author of this article is confined to identification of the origin of the choice, based on the fusion of classical music traditions with jazz, clearly marked in the creation of Oleg Negruta.
