Summary/Abstract: The current issue of Acta Baltica Historiae et Philosophiae Scientiarum is a regular one but there is still something special about it. The journal was launched as a result of the joint efforts of the key members of the associations of the historians and philosophers of science of the Baltic countries. However, this was not the first joint initiative by the Baltic colleagues. There is a tradition that reaches much further back in time, the regular Baltic conferences on the history of science. Another conference, the 30th, is just about to take place and will be held in Oulu in upcoming June, which is why now is exactly the right time to publish an insight into this tradition. Our Lithuanian colleagues have gladly undertaken and successfully completed the task. The main focus of the Baltic conferences has been the history of science but, in recent decades, philosophy of science has also been strongly present, usually as a stand-alone section.
