Summary/Abstract: This study is a comparative analysis on urban transport passengers’ perception regarding specific features that influence end-users’ quality perceptions, such as accessibility, comfort, journey time, fare and technology. The research is based on 490 survey’s respondents from Bucharest, Romania, and 80 suve’s respondents from Warsaw, Poland. The main purpose is to identify the best ways to improve the urban public transport service. To this end, a comparative assessment of the perception of the citizens of Bucharest and Warsaw regarding the urban surface transport service was made and the strengths of Warsaw's urban transport were identified. For urban transport in Bucharest, the results of the survey indicate a majority negative perception of the quality of services provided by local transport company. In the case of Warsaw, respondents have a diametrically opposed general opinion on urban transport. The majority positive perception is justified by the high accessibility of the transport network, journey times, waiting times and especially the clear trend towards digitalisation of urban transport service.
