Summary/Abstract: Although smart city research has been underway for a long time, it is estimated that we are still at the very beginning of smart city development. One aspect of smart cities is the safe city, which includes everything related to safety. The focus of our research is to analyze the forecasting of alarms that occur due to emergency-related events. The use of the J48 classification algorithm is envisaged for this purpose. The comparison itself includes analysis for different cases with the use of data for two time periods, the use of data for a whole time period or by quarterly time periods, and the use of balanced and unbalanced data. Such an analysis will help us better understand what is happening regarding alarm detection, which helps to increase situational awareness in the control rooms of smart cities.
